Kathryn Howden


KATHRYN HOWDEN è un’attrice scozzese molto stimata e prolifica nel suo campo artistico.

È nata e cresciuta a Pennywell, Edimburgo, una zona che lei stessa definisce “Piuttosto pericolosa. Crescere così ti espone a tante cose e dovevi lottare”.

Il padre Alec “Happy” Howden, commediante ma che guidava anche gli autobus come secondo lavoro, ha un passato da pugile, così ha insegnato alla figlia Kathryn come difendersi: “Lottavo come un ragazzo e nessuno osava toccarmi”.

Ha una sorella più piccola e un fratello maggiore, Lewis, anch’egli attore. Ha conosciuto il suo compagno Gilly Gilchrist sul set della serie tv drammatica “Looking After Jo Jo”.

Kathryn ha studiato al Royal Conservatoire of Scotland e ha cantato per il coro dell’Edinburgh Youth Theatre.

Abilità canore: voce da registrazione registro alto, con specialità ballad e blues.

E’ in grado di recitare imitando vari accenti come quello di Edimburgo, Americano, Irlandese, di Liverpool, Cockney e RP.

Il 1 Novembre 2013 è entrata ufficialmente nel cast della serie tv “Outlander”, adattamento della saga omonima scritta da Diana Gabaldon, sotto la direzione di Ron D. Moore per interpretare il ruolo di Mrs. Baird, proprietaria e direttrice del Bed & Breakfast in cui Frank e Claire soggiornano durante il viaggio in Scozia, a Inverness, per la loro seconda luna di miele nel 1946.
